Former India wicketkeeper-batter Parthiv Patel drew flak on X after his comments on Royal Challengers Bengaluru’s (RCB) all-rounder Glenn Maxwell. Patel, a part of the IPL expert panel, rated the Australian as the most overrated player in the lucrative tournament.
The comments did not go well amongst the fans as they began to criticize Patel. One of the fans also reminded the Gujarat player about his statistics in the IPL while the other said that it was “shameless tweet”.

Patel’s comments was purely based on statistics. He also clarified his statement with a poll on X, where he asked the fans whether Maxwell is a great player for Australia or a great player in IPL.
“My point exactly. He hasn’t translated his international form and reputation to the #IPL. Given the opportunities he’s had across franchisees, his performance has been very underwhelming,” Patel said on X with the poll result, which saw Maxwell gaining more votes for being a great player for Australia.
His comments were also supported by IPL anchor Suhail Chandok and other member of the media fraternity. “A number that was sent to us that was alarming was that he’s gone past 30 in ~37 inns out of 127. That’s ~90 innings with 20s or less🤯 Given the mad talent he possesses & his knocks for Australia, it’s crazy how he hasn’t had more scores in the #IPL given the opportunity,” Chandok said.
