Champions League holders Real Madrid are set to officially present French World Cup winner Kylian Mbappe at the Santiago Bernabeu on July 16, Wednesday. His presentation for the Spanish giants comes after an under-par performance for his national team in the Euro 2024 where he netted only one goal in France’s exit in the semi-finals.
“Real Madrid C. F. is pleased to announce that Kylian Mbappé will be presented at the Santiago Bernabéu stadium on Tuesday 16 July at noon. President of Real Madrid, Florentino Pérez, will welcome Kylian Mbappé to Real Madrid City for the formal signing of the contract that links our new player to the club for the next five seasons,” the statement read.
“Following the presentation, Kylian Mbappé will speak to the media in the press room at the Santiago Bernabéu,” it added.
The French forward is touted to be the next ‘Galactico’ and make the Real Madrid line-up stronger along with Jude Bellingham. He will be donning the No.9 jersey for the Spanish giants after reportedly denying to wear the No.10 shirt out of respect for Croatian veteran Luka Modric.
The 25-year-old will carry forward the legacy of the No.9 jersey which was earlier donned by Portuguese and Brazilian Ronaldo, Karim Benzema, Emilio Butragueno, and Alfredo Di Stefano.
Mbappe joins the club at the back of a brilliant record for Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) where he netted 256 goals and 108 assists in 308 appearances. He has also netted 48 times in 84 fixtures for his national time.
