A fantastic bowling performance from Mohammed Shami helped India secure its position in the final of ICC World Cup. India will face the winners from the South Africa vs Australia match to be played tomorrow.

India defeated New Zealand by 70 runs to enter World Cup 2023 final and Mohammed Shami was announced Man of the Match after the pacer”s record breaking performance limited New Zealand to 327.

In the first half of the game, in a spectacular display of batting prowess, India achieved a historic milestone at Mumbai”s Wankhede Stadium. The team secured the highest total ever recorded in an ICC ODI World Cup knockout match with the help of tons from Virat Kohli and Shreyas Iyer. Virat Kohli hit his 50th century in the match, with that he surpassed Sachin Tendulkar, making the most number of ODI (One Day International) centuries in his name.

India amassed an impressive 397 for four at the end of 50 overs, surpassing New Zealand”s previous record of 393/6 against West Indies in the 2015 World Cup quarterfinal in Wellington.

With today”s performance, Shami became the top wicket taker of this tournament with 23.

Congratulating the Team India, PM Modi said India put up a superlative performance and entered the Finals in remarkable style.
