The country was plunged into mourning following the passing of prominent industrialist Ratan Tata, who died late Wednesday at a hospital in Mumbai. After his demise, several prominent figures from around the world came forward to offer their condolences.

Ratan Tata, a titan of Indian industry, was celebrated for his visionary leadership and extensive philanthropic initiatives. His death has sent shockwaves across multiple sectors, including the Indian cricket community joining the nation in mourning his loss.

Cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar was one among the early visitors at Tata’s home to pay tribute to the industrialist. “In his life, and demise, Mr Ratan Tata has moved the nation. I was fortunate to spend time with him, but millions, who have never met him, feel the same grief that I feel today. Such is his impact. From his love for animals to philanthropy, he showed that true progress can only be achieved when we care for those who don’t have the means to take care of themselves. Rest in peace, Mr Tata. Your legacy will continue to live through the institutions you built and values that you embraced,” he wrote on X.

Former Indian cricketer VVS Laxman posted on X, “End of an era as one of the greats of our country, Shri Ratan Tata Ji passes away. He will always be remembered for his invaluable contribution to our country and for being such an incredible role model. Heartfelt condolences to all his well-wishers and admirers all around the world. Om Shanti”

Dodda Ganesh, former Indian pacer also shared on X, “You were an absolute doyen. Thanks for everything, sir. Rest in peace #RatanTata”.

Honouring Tata’s legacy, cricketer Virendra Sehwag, wrote, “We have lost a true Ratan of Bharat, Shri Ratan Tata ji. His life will be an inspiration for us all and he will continue to live in our hearts. Om Shanti”.

Irfan Pathan, former Indian all-rounder, echoed similar sentiments, posting, “Deeply saddened by the loss of Shri Ratan Tata ji. He wasn’t just a business leader, but a true inspiration for millions.
