Many of us wouldn’t even know that the assembly lines of Tata Safari & Harrier, are completely managed by women. Yes, my dear folks its Ratan Tata’s forward thinking approach that kept him way ahead of other industrialists. The idea to have all women assembly lines was not easy when implemented but Tatas are always a leap ahead of others in such social causes. Motive was to empower women. Tata’s have always stood for innovation and pioneering technologies.
The growing competition suggests that it might be the right time to dive into hybrid technology. It would boost fuel efficiency while reducing emissions, offer better flexibility with limited EV infrastructure and ensure Tata stays ahead in the global market, where hybrids are gaining traction. It would be imperative to incorporate hybrid engines into Tata’s lineup of models like the Nexon, Curvv, Harrier, and Safari. This could be a big game changer as the automotive world rapidly shifts towards sustainability, as it combines the best of both world along with traditional Internal combustion engine (ICE) and electric vehicles. Tata Motors is already dominating the market with electric vehicles like the Nexon EV.
The Tata Harrier Design retains the robust stance of the Harrier with updates to the front and rear lighting. Its Interior is expected to feature a tech-forward cabin, possibly with a digital instrument cluster and enhanced infotainment options. Known for its sturdy performance Tata Harrier EV was revealed at the 2023 Auto Expo and later at the Bharat Mobility Expo 2024.
At the launch of the Curvv, the company revealed that its new ATLAS (Adaptive Tech Forward Lifestyle Architecture) platform, which resembles the coupe-SUV, can accommodate 4×4, of course with some changes. Tata has filed a design patent for a terrain mode lever that could be seen on future SUVs including the soon to be launched Sierra, and the Harrier EV which will be offered with AWD.
The new Nexon will also be based on the patented ATLAS platform which means that the new terrain modes are likely be omitted in the compact SUV. Another SUV based on the same architecture, is yet to be seen if an AWD system will make its way to Tata’s ICE SUVs. Tata Motors is working on introducing terrain modes for its SUVs for which patent has been taken
Tata Motors currently retails its innovative style of functioning and let’s hope that the legacy of Tata Sons continues with its forward thinking approach.
