The T20 format brings a lot of entertainment to the game along with the cricketing action and even the fans make the most of it. Such was the case in the Tamil Nadu Premier League (TNPL) 2024 clash between Chepauk Super Gillies vs Siechem Madurai Panthers at the NPR College Ground, Dindigul on Sunday when a fan refused to return the ball.

In a video shared by Star Sports Tamil, a local fan from Dindigul, wearing a blue t-shirt and lungi, got hold of the ball after it was dispatched for a maximum. He comically gestured towards the big screen, refusing to return the ball, and later went back to his charpoy to relax with his friend under a tree.

In the match, the Siechem Madurai Panthers rode on a half-century from opener Lokeshwar (55) and an unbeaten 43 off 24 from J Koushik to reach a total of 191/4 in the stipulated 20 overs. The duo were also well supported by cameo knocks from captain Hari Nishanth (37) and NS Chaturved (26 not out).

In response, D Santosh Kumar (48) and Pradosh Ranjan Paul (52) played cameo knocks but it went in-vain as Chepauk Super Gillies were restricted to 182/8 in the stipulated 20 overs. As a result, the Siechem Madurai Panthers clinched victory by nine runs.

It was the second victory for the Panthers in seven matches.
