Sachin Tendulkar was at his elegant best as he returned to T20 action at an exhibition match at the Sai Krishnan Cricket Stadium in Sathya Sai Grama, Bengaluru, on Thursday.

The Indian cricket legend gave the crowd a lot to cheer about as he slammed a quick-fire cameo of 27 runs from 16 deliveries. His entertaining knock was filled with his trademark shots topped by his brilliant timing. To add to his return, the spectators also witnessed a return of rivalry between Tendulkar and Sri Lanka legend Muttiah Muralitharan. However, the rivalry did not last long as Tendulkar was dismissed by Muralitharan in the very first ball he faced while trying to step up and clear the long off.

Meanwhile, Tendulkar led his side “One World” to a four-wicket victory over Yuvraj Singh”s “One Family”. The one-off exhibition match was organised by the Sri Madhusudan Sai Global Humanitarian Mission, with the objective of raising awareness and support regarding child healthcare. The match was free-to-attend for cricket fans in India but the seating was available on invitation only basis.

The Sai Krishnan Cricket Stadium in Sathya Sai Grama, Bengaluru which hosted the exhibition match boasts a seating capacity of 30,000 spectators. The stadium is designed in five-petal lotus shape and 5,000 rural students will get benefits of free value-based education as a part of the “One World One Family” initiative.

A total of 24 legendary cricketers from seven countries participated in the exhibition match.
