Ahead of its theatrical release tomorrow, Aamir Khan’s Sitaare Zameen Par received an early nod of approval from cricket icon Sachin Tendulkar, who was invited to a private screening of the film. The invitation came at the request of Sachin’s wife, Anjali Tendulkar, who reached out to Aamir directly, knowing they might be travelling on the film’s release day.

Aamir made the arrangements, and the couple joined the film’s cast and crew for an early viewing. After watching the film, Sachin shared heartfelt praise: “I absolutely loved the film. It makes you laugh, cry, and connect with the entire ‘Sitaare’ team. I’ve always believed sport teaches us life’s most important lessons—and this film carries that spirit beautifully. It has the power to bring people together.”

The film centres around a once-celebrated basketball coach who begins working with a group of neurodivergent children, finding renewed purpose through their journey together. Directed by RS Prasanna and written by Divy Sidhi Sharma, the film stars Aamir Khan, Genelia Deshmukh, and a talented young cast.

Author Sudha Murthy, who also previewed the film, called it “eye-opening,” noting how the children portrayed are often misunderstood but radiate “a pure heart and a deeply sensitive way of seeing the world.”

Set to release nationwide on June 20, Sitaare Zameen Par features music by Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy with lyrics by Amitabh Bhattacharya. Produced by Aamir Khan Productions and Aparna Purohit, the film is Aamir’s theatrical comeback after rejecting a reported ₹120 crore OTT offer, choosing instead to bring the story to cinema halls first.

The makers of Sitaare Zameen Par have reportedly been directed by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) to include a quote from Prime Minister Narendra Modi after the film’s opening disclaimer, according to a Bollywood Hungama report.

The film, starring and produced by Aamir Khan under his Aamir Khan Productions banner, had earlier received clearance from the CBFC without any cuts. However, as per a report by Bollywood Hungama, the board later requested a series of modifications that temporarily put the film’s release in limbo.
