WPL 2024: Arundhati Reddy Fined For Breaching Code Of Conduct

Delhi Capitals” Arundhati Reddy has been fined 10% of her match fees for breaching the WPL Code of Conduct during her team’s match against UP Warriorz at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru on Monday.

The 26-year-old picked up a wicket in Delhi Capitals nine-wicket win over the UP Warriorz. “Arundhati admitted to the Level 1 Offence under Article 2.5 of the WPL’s Code of Conduct which relates to using language, actions or gestures which disparage or which could provoke an aggressive reaction from a batter upon her dismissal during a match.”

“For Level 1 breaches of the Code of Conduct, the Match Referee’s decision is final and binding.”

She scalped the wicket of lower-order batter Poonam Khemnar. Delhi Capitals all-rounder Radha Yadav was the pick of the bowlers for the side as she returned figures of 4/20 to restrict the UP Warriorz to 119/9.

Delhi Capitals chased down the target with nine wickets to spare in 14.4 overs. DC openers Meg Lanning (51) and Shafali Verma (64 not out) notched up half-centuries to help their side sail over the line.

Delhi Capitals are currently placed at the second spot in the five-team points table with a win and one loss. Mumbai Indians currently lead the WPL 2024 points table with two consecutive wins to their name.
