Veteran Bollywood actor Anil Kapoor”s sci-fi film Mr India, released in 1987, is still a fan favourite. Thirty-six years later, the actor is back as Mr. India for the latest commercial for Google Pixel smartphones.
In the pixel commercial, Anil Kapoor plays the role of Arun Verma, also known as Mr India. He is accompanied by his friend, and together they begin an adventure in a haunted mansion. While exploring the mansion, they discover a Google Pixel 8, and the voiceover in the background reveals the features of the Pixel smartphone. This commercial ends with a ‘To be continued’ sign, which indicates that more commercials to this series are on the way.

On October 22, Anil Kapoor shared this commercial on his Instagram handle. “Mr. India is a phenomenon that even time could not erase, at once a ghost and the most real person I have ever played. And now, 38 years later, Mr. India is back with the Google #Pixel8!” wrote the actor while sharing the commercial. Mr India producer Boney Kapoor also shared this commercial and captioned, “Work in progress for a big screen appearance. #MrIndia #MrIndia2 @AnilKapoor.”

Google is making constant efforts to capture the smartphone sector in India. Recently, Google made a historic announcement that they would start manufacturing Pixel smartphones in the country. Google will begin this initiative with the manufacturing of Pixel 8 smartphones. Google launched the Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro devices on October 4. ‘Made in India’ Pixel 8 smartphones will hit the market in 2024.
