“Bhashini”, India’s “AI Powered Language Translation Platform” To Boost Digital Inclusion: PM Modi

Speaking to the G20 Digital Economy Working Group Ministers” meet, Prime Minister said that India is developing an AI powered language translation platform, “Bhashini” which would boost the digital inclusion of all segments of society. Bhashini supports digital inclusion in all the diverse languages of India.

More on the event, PM welcomed the groups’ efforts to build a road map for cross country digital skill’s and virtual centre for excellence and expressed his appreciation on G20’s virtual global digital public infrastructure projectory, he said the frame would usher in transparency, accountability and fairness to all.

On the challenges and security threats ahead, the PM called for building up on common “principles for a secure, trusted and resilient digital economy”. G20 had the “opportunity to lay the foundation of an inclusive, prosperous and secure global digital future” he said. On inclusion of a digital ecosystem, he added that the countries could aspire to “build a global digital health ecosystem” and “can also develop safe and responsible use of artificial intelligence”.

He further said that, countries together could build an entire ecosystem for “technology-based solutions to address the challenges faced by humanity”, and “all it needs from us are the 4 C’s, conviction, commitment, coordination and collaboration”.

which is available in you tube and PIB”s X handle, the PM had begun by saying that India has an unprecedented digital growth in the last 9 years with the start of digital India in 2015 and went to speak of the inclusive nature of Digital India and how it benefited India and the world by touching upon financial inclusion services, Cowin, the power of Jan Dhan Bank accounts, Aadhar and mobiles. This was held via video conferencing.
