
Indian Railways Unveils RailOne App, Simplifying Passenger Services (image screengrab: x.com/RailMinIndia)
Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw launched a new app called RailOne on Tuesday, July 1. As a one stop destination for all railway related queries and needs, the commercial app meant to ease the travel experience.
The major objective of the RailOne app to ensure an enhanced user experience to the passenger through a straightforward and uncluttered interface. It brings all railway services in one location, to provide users with comprehensive Indian Railway functionalities, making it the approachable platform to meet all their travel requirements.

“RailOne App is a one-stop solution for all passenger needs. Through this app, passengers get easy access to the following services: Ticketing – reserved, unreserved, platform tickets; train and PNR enquiry; journey planning; rail help services; meal booking in train,” Railway Ministry said in a press statement.
The app has been devised by the Railways’ public sector undertaking (PSU), the Centre for Railway Information Systems (CRIS) and it will be available for download on both Android PlayStore and iOS App Store platforms.

The Ministry also talked about R-Wallet (Railway e-wallet) feature, which offers a 3% discount on unreserved UTS tickets. Additionally, users can now log in easily using a numeric mPIN and biometric like faceID or fingerprint authentication.
