A Touch Of Kashmiriyat! Rahul Gandhi, Kharge Enjoy Dinner In Kashmir

As per the reports, the Congress leadership is expected to convene meetings with leaders of the National Conference (NC)  for a pre-poll alliance.

Senior Congress leader and Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi is on a two-day visit to Jammu and Kashmir to discuss assembly poll preparations. He, along with party chief Mallikarjun Kharge reached Srinagar on Wednesday.  Both leaders were scheduled to hold a meeting with local party workers in Srinagar on Thursday at 10am and later address a press conference at 11.30 am.

On Wednesday, both leaders along with other party leaders, visited Hotel Ahdoos, a well-known eatery in Srinagar’s Lal Chowk known for its  traditional local cuisine, the ‘Wazwan’ and later had ice-cream at a popular parlour.

The assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir will be held in three phases; September 18, 25 and October 1. The counting of votes will take place on October 4.  Jammu and Kashmir has been functioning without an elected government for five years now and assembly were last held in 2014.
