“Breach Of Understanding, Take Appropriate Action": India to Pak on Ceasefire Violations

India has accused Pakistan of violating the freshly-inked ceasefire agreement within hours of its announcement on Saturday, with reports of drone incursions and heavy shelling across multiple sectors in Jammu and Kashmir.

Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri stated: “The understanding reached between DGMOs is being violated by Pakistan. Our forces are retaliating against this condemnable intrusion. Pakistan must immediately take appropriate action to stop these violations.”

The breakdown saw explosions reported across Srinagar, prompting Jammu And Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah to tweet: “What the hell just happened to the ceasefire?” Meanwhile, Gujarat Home Minister Harsh Sanghavi ordered a blackout in Kutch after detecting multiple drones near the border.

Government sources confirmed violations in 10+ sectors including Poonch, Rajouri and Jammu. The Border Security Force has been authorised to respond firmly to what analysts suggest could reflect either a deliberate Pakistani strategy or internal military factionalism.
