On April 27th, the Uttar Pradesh Police filed a First Information Report (FIR) against folk singer and political satirist Neha Singh Rathore for the “objectionable content” she shared on social media concerning the April 22 Pahalgam terrorist attack.
She has been booked for sedition under multiple sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) following the complaint alleging her of inciting communal disharmony and undermining national integrity through her posts.

Now, she posted a video on her social media platform X, stating, “Your abuses and FIR cannot break my courage… The people who are abusing me are the same people who threw mud on Savitribai Phule…poisoned Socrates…burnt Bruno alive…poisoned Mirabai Rathore…and forced Sitaji to undergo Agni Pariksha.” Rathore has tagged National Commission for Women and Prime Minister Narendra Modi in her post.
