Anthony Albanese, an Australian Prime Minister slammed Israel’s explanation on the killing of seven aid workers in Gaza. Albanese said the explanation is “not good enough”. The killing of the World Central Kitchen (WCK) members sparked global outrage.

Australian citizen Zomi Frankcom was among the seven employees of the WCK who were killed by an Israeli air strike in the central Gaza. A US-Canada dual citizen, a Poland citizen, a Palestinian citizen and three UK citizens were killed in the attack.

Earlier, Albanese called the death of Frankcom as “beyond any reasonable circumstances”, and added that the Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s remarks that innocent people get killed in the war were unacceptable.

Albanese said, “this is against humanitarian law – international humanitarian law makes it very clear that aid workers should be able to provide that aid and that assistance free of the threat of losing their life”.

The Australian Prime Minister said that he had spoken with Netanyahu to demand “fully accountability” and Israel must conduct a transparent investigation and the findings must be made public, “so that we can find how exactly this can occur”.

In a video message after the attack Netanyahu said the killing of the aid workers were unintentional and tragic but “this happens in war”.

Haaretz, an Israeli newspaper on Tuesday reported that an Israeli drone fired three missiles at the WCK convoy out of mistaken belief that Hamas member was travelling with them. Citing an unnamed Israeli military source, the report said the drone fired on three separate vehicles in succession despite the vehicle being clearly marked with the WCK logo and even after the aid workers informed the Israeli military that they have been attacked.

The WCK founder chef Jose Andres said that the Israeli occupation force has targeted his workers “systematically, car by car”. Andres called for investigations into the matter by US government and by the home country of every aid worker that was killed. He said the IDF (Israeli Defence Force) were targeting them on the deconflicting zone, in an area controlled by the IDF itself, and know that it was their teams moving on the road with three cars.
