Iran Warns To Target All US Bases If Attacked
As per Iran’s state news agency IRNA, Iran’s Defense Minister Brig. Gen. Aziz Nasirzadeh has warned the US against any military action on Iran and warned of retaliatory measures. Nasirzadeh said that Iran will not hesitate to attack all American bases in the area, causing the US to leave the region.
Iran’s Defense Minister: “If conflict is imposed on us, the adversary will certainly suffer heavier casualties, and the U.S. will be forced to leave the region.”

The statement by Iran’s Defense Minister reflects a strategic escalation amid heightened U.S.-Iran tensions, following a 2024 Israeli airstrike in Syria that killed Iranian officers, marking a shift from proxy conflicts to direct threats, as noted in the Council on Foreign Relations’ Global Conflict Tracker.

Iran’s military posture is supported by its self-sufficient defense industry under the Ministry of Defence and Armed Forces Logistics (MODAFL), which, per a 2021 study in the Journal of Defense Studies, has developed indigenous missile technology capable of targeting U.S. bases across the Middle East, challenging Western assumptions of Iranian military dependence.
Ongoing nuclear negotiations, with Iran rejecting a U.S. proposal on June 10, 2025, and preparing a counteroffer, suggest a diplomatic stalemate that could fuel military rhetoric, as historical data from the Arms Control Association shows a correlation between failed talks and increased regional militarization since 2015.
In an earlier interview with state TV, the defence minister had said, “The Islamic Republic has never initiated a war in recent years and will not initiate any war in the future either, but if we are attacked or war is imposed on us, we will respond with strength”.

“If this war is initiated by the United States or Israel, the Islamic Republic will attack their interests, bases, and forces wherever they may be and whenever it deems necessary. We have no hostility toward neighbouring countries—they are our brothers—but US bases are our targets,” he added.
