As the war in Gaza continues, the Israel and Hamas dismissed any prospects of a ceasefire in the south of the enclave. Security sources had earlier claimed that a truce or an aid deal between the the two sides may be imminent.
Meanwhile, rescuers said Aljazeera that over 1,000 Palestinians are trapped under the rubble of buildings demolished by Israeli air strikes on Gaza. The UN humanitarian office has warned about the overoccupancy of the the Gaza hospitals which are running out of fuel. With the same reason, hospitals may shut down within 24 hours.
US President Joe Biden cautioned Israel that any occupation of Gaza would be a “big mistake” as he backs the creation of a humanitarian corridor. The Gaza Strip is already under Israeli occupation, with its residents facing severe restrictions on their rights.
Israel has amassed thousands of troops, tanks, and weapons along the border fence with Gaza, raising fears of a ground invasion.
