Gaza, Palestine: While the world leave a sigh of relief on finally reaching a ceasefire deal in Gaza, Israel is making it impossible for the Palestinians to celebrate the good news. The Occupation force continue to pummel the coastal enclave, terrorising the celebratory mood. At least 40 Palestinians were killed during the deadly strike on Gaza City. Gaza civil defence crew said that attacks have intesified since the announcement of ceasefire agreement.

Reportedly, Israeli fighter jets bombed a house on Mashtaha street in the Shuja’iyya neighbourhood, east of Gaza City, killing at least one child. One other person was also killed in the bombing.

On Wednesday, hours leading into the announcement of the ceasefire deal, Israel has killed more than 80 Palestinians. Couple of hours before the bombing, the Palestinians erupted in joy upon hearing the agreement of ceasefire.

Qatar, Egypt and the United States have announced that a ceasefire agreement in Gaza has achieved. Qatar’s Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani made the announcement, saying that the deal will lead to the release of Israeli captives and surging humanitarian aid to Gaza.

The ceasefire will take effect on Sunday, January 19, Qatar’s prime minister has said in his press conference. He further added that talks were continuing with Israel and Hamas on the implementation of the deal. The ceasefire will witness the release of 33 Israeli hostages under Hamas captive in the first stage, in return of 110 Palestinians serving life sentences in Israeli prisons.
