Israel Resumes Offensive In Gaza, Kills 31 In Major Ceasefire Violation
In a major ceasefire violation, Israel has resumed its attack in war-torn Gaza, killing at least 31 Palestinians, including children. The Israel Defense Force (IDF) has carried out air strikes in multiple locations, including Gaza City and Khan Younis since dawn.
Since the Gaza ceasefire took effect in early October, the Jewish forces have killed at least 509 Palestinians and wounded 1,405 more. It has also intensified attacks in the West Bank, storming the Jalazone camp near Ramallah in the occupied West Bank, opening fire and injuring two children aged 15 and 16.
The latest offensive on Gaza comes a day before Israel is expected to reopen the Rafah border crossing with Egypt. The limited reopening of Rafah is set to coincide with the Israel-Hamas ceasefire entering its second phase under a U.S.-brokered plan.
Negotiations remain uncertain, with unresolved issues including the demilitarisation of Gaza after nearly two decades of Hamas rule and the establishment of a new authority to oversee post-war reconstruction.
