The United Arab Emirates has imposed a ban on the entry of travelers without their full name on an Indian passport. In revised guidelines, the United National Advance Information Center has advised airline companies not to accept passports with only one name. The new rule can be detrimental to visiting visa holders.
However, the rule will not affect the UAE resident visa holders with one name on their passports. According to the new guidelines, any passport holder with a single name either in the surname or the given name will not be allowed to enter UAE immigration and the passenger will be considered as INAD. Such a passenger will not receive a visa.
However, if there are two names in the surname or the given name, they will be granted a visa. Earlier, a statement on this matter said that if there was no name or one name in the surname, they would not be issued a visa. With the new guideline, the United National Advance Information Center has clarified that if the passport has the second name elsewhere, the visa will be issued to the passport holder.
