Chinese Army 'Successfully Conducts' Test Launch Of Strategic Missile At Pacific Ocean
Beijing, China: The Chinese People’s Liberation Army (PLA) Navy on Monday successfully conducted the test launch of a strategic missile by a submarine. According to the PLA navy, the strategic nuclear submarine successfully launched a strategic missile carrying a dummy warhead toward relevant high seas of the Pacific Ocean on Monday morning, July 6.
The missile landed precisely within the designated waters, the PLA claimed. Countries in the region near the Pacific Ocean had earlier warned that Beijing was planning to test an intercontinental ballistic missile.
The army spokesperson Wang Xuemeng stated that the missile successfully landed in the designated area, adding that the missile test launch is a routine arrangement of China’s annual military training, and relevant countries were informed in advance.
The launch came on the same day that China and Russia were due to begin their annual joint naval exercises off Qingdao, a major military port and seaside resort in China’s east.
