Republican candidate Donald Trumps running mate JD Vance is facing backlashes for comments he made in 2021, which have been slammed as “sexist”. In an interview with former Fox News host Tucker Carlson, Vance said that the country was run by “a bunch of childless cat ladies”. He took the names of Kamala Harris and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez aka AOC while making the remarks.
He said US was run by “a bunch of childless cat ladies who are miserable at their own lives and the choices that they’ve made and so they want to make the rest of the country miserable too”.
By taking the names of Kamala Harris, Pete Buttigieg, and AOC, Vance said that the entire future of the Democrats is controlled by people without children. He asked, “How does it make any sense we’ve turned our country over to people who don’t really have a direct stake in it?”

Now as the clip has resurfaced, Vance is also facing the wrath of the “Swifties”. Taylor Swift, who is not a mother, is a proud cat mom. She is known to have many cats including a Ragdoll cat named Benjamin Button, and two Scottish Folds, named as Olivia Benson, and Meredith Grey.
An X post with an image of Swift with a cat that was once featured in Time magazine wrote that “hell hath no fury like a certain childless cat lady who has yet to endorse a presidential candidate”.
One of the X user commented the post saying, “so sick of the “baby factory” misogyny. Another user hope Sift to come out for “Kamala and against all these sexist comments from the Trumplican party and Trump himself”.
During the interview, Vance also said that in order to get a healthy ruling class in the country, it should invest more, vote more and “should support more people who actually have kids. Because those are the people who ultimately have a more direct stake in the future of this country”.

On the question of facing backlashes for his comments, Vance said that he believes he “struck a nerve”.
He said, “I mean these people recognize that they are unhappy. They are living in one-bedroom apartments in New York City. They have played their entire lives to win a status game. They are obsessed with their jobs”. Vance suggested that these people “hate normal Americans for choosing family”. They “would be happier coming home to a smiling kid” than “worrying about their crappy job”, he added.
