A video from a New York Church shows a group of Muslims, Christians, and Jews praying together for the war-hit people in Palestine during an Iftar party. The people gathered at the Church for the Iftar were hosted by Jews for Racial and Economic Justice (JFREJ), and they were heard calling for a ceasefire in Gaza. The JFREJ is an American left-wing non-profit grassroots Jewish organisation that works for eradicating racism.
People from the three semitic religions came together to break the fast and share their meals. One of the guests in an interview with a news channel said that they were gathered to show support for humanity amidst the escalating causalities in Gaza, pointing out the number of deaths and injuries. JFREJ shared the footage from the gathering in its X (foremerly Twitter) handle.
We intentionally held Jewish, Christian, and Muslim prayers in the same room at the same time, letting the sounds of our traditions and prayers wash over each other as we prayed together. #Iftar4Ceasefire #BreakFast4Ceasefire pic.twitter.com/6wHgUoMRmv

However, even after increased pressure from the international community including the European Union leaders, Israel has threatened to continue its offensive in Gaza, killing hundreds of innocent civilians each day. Amid ceaseless explosions and the resultant mental trauma, the Palestinians including children are on the verge of mass death due to the catastrophic food shortage, as per the global hunger monitor, Routers reported last week.
The Integrated Food-Security Phase Classification (IPC) said that 70 percent of the people in northern Gaza were experiencing a severe food shortage. Noting the imminent “famine” situation in the strip, the agency also demanded an immediate political intervention for a ceasefire with a significant and immediate increase in humanitarian and commercial access to the entire population of Gaza.
More than 32,226 Palestinians mostly women and children have been killed so far as Israel continues its atrocities in the Gaza Strip unabated.
