President Biden, China’s Xi to be at G20; ITC Maurya, Taj, Shangri-La to host world leaders

India is to be buzzing with world leaders including President Joe Biden, President Xi and UK’s Rishi Sunak and delegates in September as India will be hosting G20 summit at the national capital, New Delhi.

The event would be held on September 9-10. So far, it is known that, 29 heads of states, 14 heads from international organisations, European Union officials and guest countries are to be attending the event, the mint reported.

Leading hotels, Taj Palace, ITC Maurya, The Oberoi, The Lodhi, The Imperial and the Le Meridian have been booked for their stay.

President Biden and the delegates would be staying at ITC Maurya, 400 rooms have been booked for this. ITC Maurya has hosted U.S Presidents, George W Bush, Bill Clinton and Barack Obama earlier. The U.S secret services are already at work, inspecting the place and the premises, reported the mint.

President Xi would be housed at the Taj Hotel, while UK’s Rishi Sunak and guests from Germany would be hosted at hotel Shangri-La. French President, Emmanuel Macron along with the delegates is to be at Claridges while Australian PM Anthony Albanese would be staying at the Imperial Hotel in Delhi.

Meanwhile, Delhi Chief Minister, Arvind Kejriwal has said told that all private and Delhi government offices and commercial establishments in Delhi would remain closed. This would also include banks and markets; schools and colleges are also to remain closed. The closure would be from September 8 -10. Earlier, the Special Police Commissioner had sent a request regarding this.
