Sheikh Hasina Lands At Hindon Airbase, Expected To Leave For London

Former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has landed at Hindon Airbase on Delhi’s outskirts in Ghaziabad. She has reportedly been received by IAF officials. It is believed that Hasina is accompanied by some members of her entourage.

News agency ANI quoted sources said that Lockheed C-130J Hercules aircraft, a flight emerged from Bangladesh, which was heading towards Delhi. Her flight is believed to be heading to London via India, as per PTI.

“Indian security agencies are monitoring a C-130 aircraft with call sign AJAX1431 since 10 kms from Indian border with Bangladesh and it is heading towards Delhi. It is believed that Sheikh Hasina and some members of her entourage are on this plane,” ANI quoted sources familiar with the matter.

As per flight tracker Flight Radar 24, an aircraft of Bangladesh Air Force was seen flying over India. The flight quickly became the most tracked plane in the world on today afternoon. As of 5 pm, the flight was somewhere over Lucknow.

The Border Security Force issued a high alert to over 4,000 units at the India-Bangladesh border as the crisis spiraled in Dhaka.

India has cancelled all trains to and fro from Bangladesh.

Hasina resigned as Bangladesh Prime Minister following massive protests in the country. Reportedly, she, along with her sister, departed from the premier’s official residence, Gano Bhaban.

Meanwhile, back in Bangladesh, thousands of protestors have stormed Hasina’s official residence on Monday. They were seen feasting on fish and biryani while others were spotted clicking photos and shouting slogans. Many took chairs, tables, and utensils from the residence.
