Delhi University Tops CUET UG Applications; Here Are Universities With Highest Applications Received

The trend of the applications for Common University Entrance Test Undergraduate (CUET-UG) shows that Delhi University has again emerged as one of the most popular universities among 263 total undergraduate universities listed in CUET. By receiving a total of 26 Lakh applications for various UG courses, the university topped the list. The university has a total of 80,000 seats across its affiliated colleges and departments, Times of India reports

However, the number of applications is less this time compared to the last year. Delhi University had received 28.3 Lakh applications in the previous year. Banaras Hindu University followed Delhi University with the second most applications with 8.4 lakh registrations. Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar University (BBAU), Lucknow comes third with 5.1 lakh total applications received.

With the maximum number of applications received, Delhi University had topped the previous year’s figures too. As far as the other universities included in the CUET are concerned, five universities have received over four lakh applications and 13 universities with over two lakh applications.

A total of 41 universities received above one lakh applications and that includes major universities such as the University of Allahabad with 4.8 lakh, Jamia Millia Islamia with 2.6 Lakh, Central University of Haryana and Karnataka with 2.3 lakh respectively, Jawaharlal Nehru University and Visva-Bharati with 1.6 lakh each and Aligarh Muslim University with one lakh applications.

Cuet UG applicants are applying to multiple central and participating state and private universities. Three private universities that received the highest applications included Amity University, Noida with 4.97 Lakh, Chandigarh University with 3.3 and Lovely Professional University with 2.4 Lakh applications.

However, the final numbers could still change as the aspirants will be able to change their choice of institutions and courses. The DU has learnt to increase the number further, as per reports.
