Edited by Hiba Anvar

Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav just days ahead of the Lok Sabha polls has come affirming that the Bharatiya Janata Party is losing its hold in their stronghold states. In a post on X, Akhilesh Yadav describing the recent incident of the protest of the BJP workers against BJP MP which occurred in the BJP-led Uttar Pradesh announced that discontent towards the saffron party is boiling up across the country.

In the post in Hindi, the SP chief claimed that the office of the BJP MP in Barely City was surrounded by the BJP workers protesting against the comment passed by the BJP mayor against the Kurumi community. It is alleged that the mayor has made some extremely objectionable and indecent remarks against the Kurumi community. Similar kinds of incidents are now taking place in different parts of the country, the SP chief wrote.

Akhilesh Yadav further claimed in his post that the Kshatriya Thakur Rajput community has taken a pledge to defeat the BJP in the name of Goddess Maa by taking the Ganga water. He concluded his post by stating the saffron party is losing in the states of Hindi heartland including Gujarat, Rajasthan, Haryana, Western and Eastern Uttar Pradesh and this will eventually result in the breaking of the arrogance of BJP by the common people, the post read.

Meanwhile, the BJP has filed a complaint against Akhilesh Yadav to the election commission over his remark on the death of mafia-turned-politician Muthkar Ansari on Monday. As per the complaint filed, Yadav said that the Indian government has been accused of “similar incidents” in the US and Canada, referring to the killing of terror suspects in these countries and allegations of India’s role.

The BJP cited both the Model Code of Conduct and the Indian Penal Code and demanded that the EC not only reprimand Mr. Yadav but also direct the registration of an FIR against him for making “unfounded, mischievous, and defamatory anti-national statements”, reports The Hindu.
