Congress Fields Siddharth Chaudhary From Bardoli Lok Sabha Constituency

The Congress party has given ticket to Siddharth Chaudhary, who belongs to Scheduled Tribes category, from Bardoli Lok Sabha constituency. He is son of former Congress MP, Amar Singh Chaudhary.

Siddharth Chaudhary served as President of Vyara Thaluka Panchayat from 2018 to 2022. He also served as a member of Zilla Panchayath from 2010 to 2015. He was also associated with Youth Congress for a long time. Chaudhary is currently serving as the Opposition in Tapi zilla Panchayat since 2021.

Chaudhary is contesting against Prabh Vasava of Bharatiya Janata Party. Vasava was a Congress man before he quit the party ahead of 2014 Lok Sabha election.

The Bardoli Lok Sabha seat came into effect after the 2008 delimitation of parliamentary constituencies. Before that it was known as Mandvi Lok Sabha constituency from 1952 to 2008. For the past two terms, Bardoli is the forte of BJP. The Bardoli Lok Sabha seat consist of seven assembly constituencies including, Mangrol, Mandvi, Kamrej, Bardoli, Mahuva, Vyara, Nizar. The seat belongs to Scheduled Tribes. After the formation of Bardoli, first election was held in 2009. The first elected Member of Parliament was Indian National Congress’ Tushar Chaudhary. From 2014 onwards, the constituency is under the clasp of the Bharatiya Janata Party.

It is to note that, before the delimitation, it was under BJP. During the 2014 Lok Sabha election, BJP’s Parabhbhai Vasava has won with a vote margin of 6,22,769 votes., and Tushar Chaudhary was close behind with 4,98,885 votes.
