New Date For UGC NET Announced

University Grants Commission (UGC) chairman Mamidala Jagadesh Kumar has announced that the National Testing Agency (NTA) and UGC have decided to shift the UGC-NET exam from June 16 (Sunday) to June 18 2024 (Tuesday). Mr Kumar said the decision has been taken after the educational bodies recieved feedback from candidates.

“NTA will conduct UGC-NET in OMR mode across India on a single day. NTA will soon issue a formal notification,” Mr Kumar said in an X post.

According to a report, the UGC NET has been postponed due to the UPSC Civil Services prelims examination, that has been scheduled on June 16.

The deadline to register for the exam is May 10, 2024, and the last date to submit the examination fee is May 12, 2024. Candidates can visit the NTA official website – ugcnet.nta.ac.in to learn more information about the exam and the detailed application process.

The exam will have two papers- paper 1 based on research methodology and paper 2 based on subject-specific questions. The total exam duration will be 180 minutes (3 hours) with no breaks in between the papers.
