“Congress To Give Your Wealth To Muslims”: PM Modi’s Communal Speech In Rajasthan

Edited by Shihabudeen Kunju S

While speaking at an election rally in Rajasthan’s Banswara, Prime Minister Narendra Modi made claims about the Congress party planning to give wealth of the people to Muslims after a survey, referring to the Congress manifesto. This has caused a huge uproar, and opposition leaders have said that people are not buying his promises of “Modi’s guarantees,” and PM Modi is back to spewing hate speech.

Referring to a statement by Rahul Gandhi on April 6 in Hyderabad, in which the Congress leader said that once the Congress forms government, a caste census followed by a financial and institutional survey will be carried out for the equal distribution of resources in the country, PM Modi said they (Congress) will do a survey of the gold belonging to mothers and sisters, and they will redistribute it to Muslims (as claimed by PM Modi in Rajasthan’s Banswara).

What Dr Manmohan Singh Said On “First Claim On Resources” In 2006

“They said when the Congress government is formed, there will be a survey of everyone’s wealth. Earlier, when they were in power, they said the first right on this nation’s wealth is of Musalman (Muslims). What does it mean? The wealth will be given to those people who have more children – it will be given to the infiltrators. Do you want the money from your hard work to be given to the infiltrators? Do you accept this? The Congress’ manifesto says this. They are saying they will do a survey of the gold belonging to mothers and sisters, and they will redistribute it. Manmohan Singh ji had said Muslims have the first right on our wealth. My sisters and mothers, this urban naxal thought won’t even spare your mangal sutra,” PM Modi is heard saying in a viral video from his election campaign.

In a response to PM Modi’s speech, senior Congress leader and former party president Rahul Gandhi said PM Modi is now trying to divert people’s attention after experiencing disappointment in the first phase of voting with more lies.

“After the disappointment in the first phase of voting, the level of Narendra Modi’s lies has fallen so much that out of fear, he now wants to divert the attention of the public from the issues. Trends have started coming in regarding the immense support that Congress’s ‘Revolutionary Manifesto’ is receiving. The country will now vote on its issues, vote for its employment, its family and its future. India will not go astray,” Rahul Gandhi said in an X post.

Trinamool Congress leader and Rajya Sabha MP Saket Gokhale said:

“Modi has realized that no one is buying his “guarantee” rubbish anymore & that he’s a liar. So he’s back to doing the only thing he knows – spewing hate speech. EC is sleeping as usual & won’t act. But fact – Modi is rattled beyond imagination,” Mr Gokhale said.

Another TMC MP Sagarika Ghose called PM Modi’s comments “utterly BRAZEN SHAMELESS communal appeal for votes” and asked the Election Commission of India to act.

“If the @ECISVEEP doesn’t step in NOW to immediately act against this open and vicious hate speak by the prime minister then let’s please wind up the Election Commission and forget about the Model Code of Conduct,” she added.

In a video released to the media, the Congress party challenged the Prime Minister to show if the word Hindu or Muslim is written anywhere in in their manifesto.
