Ahead of the second phase of the Lok Sabha elections, former Deputy Chief Minister of Bihar Tejashwi Yadav made a bold accusation against the national president of the BJP, JP Nadda, on Thursday. Yadav claimed that he was informed that Nadda had brought five bags from Delhi to distribute among voters.

The leader of the opposition claimed that he had received news that Nadda has brought bags with him from Delhi and is distributing them at places where elections are being conducted. Emphasising his allegation, the RJD leader said that he was not lying and that the news was true. He alleged that central agencies were openly extending their support to the BJP.

“I have received news that he (BJP chief JP Nadda) has brought several bags with him. He is distributing them at places where elections are taking place. Get this checked, the allegations are true. I am not lying. Agencies are helping him openly. He is coming from Delhi and bringing five bags with him,” he said.

Notably, Yadav has not mentioned what the five bags contain.

Yadav’s allegations come just a day before five Lok Sabha constituencies in Bihar begin polls in the second phase of elections. Yadav expressed his confidence in the party securing victory in all five Lok Sabha seats.

Referring to PM Modi’s mention of “mangalsutras” in his communal speech, Yadav took potshots at the BJP by asking who was responsible for the wives of Pulawama victims losing their Mangalsutras. He further asked who was responsible for the wives of men who died standing in long lines during demonetisation, the COVID pandemic, and the farmers’ protests that led to them losing their mangalsutras.

Voting is to be held in the Lok Sabha constituencies of Bhagalpur, Banka, Purnia, and Kishanganj on April 26.
