IPL 2024: Sanju Samson Maintains Hot Streak In Rajasthan Royals Opener

Rajasthan Royals captain Sanju Samson maintained his hot streak in his team’s inaugural Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 match against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) on Sunday.

Carrying on the bandwagon, since 2020, Samson notched up his half-century in 33 deliveries. He has scored one century and three half-centuries in the IPL opener for Rajasthan Royals since 2020. The Kerala batter had recorded the scores of 74(32) vs CSK 2020, 119(63) vs PK 2021, 55(27) vs SRH 2022 and 55(32) vs SRH 2023.

Fans on X, formerly, Twitter acknowledged his start to the IPL and reacted on his sensational knock. However, fans also mentioned that his run scoring rate falls after his inaugural showing in the lucrative tournament.

Earlier, Samson had won the toss and opted to bat. “Looks like a good batting wicket, we were ok to do both, but we’ve a different combination today. Coming back to Jaipur gives positive vibes in the dressing room.”

The 29-year-old has featured in 153 matches. He has accumulated 3949 runs at an average of 29.69 with the highest score of 119 with three centuries and 21 half-centuries to his name.

The Rajasthan Royals captain will be looking to improve on his best season in IPL 2021 where he scored 484 runs in 14 matches at an average of 40.33 with one century and two-half centuries to his name. He had the highest score of 119 during that season.
