Prithviraj Sukumaran”s much anticipated movie Aadujeevitham“s pre-booking started. The film is slated to hit silver screen on March 28th. Helmed by celebrated filmmaker Blessy, Aadujeevitham or The Goat Life is an adaptation of Benyamin”s novel, which is based on true events. It is the real-life story of a young man Najeeb, who set off abroad in search of job.
The film has created a huge buzz even before its release. Reportedly, the film has sold over 63,000 tickets within the first 13 hours of pre-booking. It has already garnered a gross collection of more than Rs. 1.3 crore in Kerala pre-sales. The pre-booking buzz promises the massive win of the film in theatres.
The film boasts talented star casts. Apart from Prithviraj, it also have Amala Paul, K R Gokul, Hollywood actor Jimmy Jean Louis, Arab actors such as Talib al-Balushi, and Rik Aby in pivotal roles. The convergence of incredible talent, coupled with the film’s emotional storyline adapted from a celebrated novel, positions Aadujeevitham, or The Goat Life, as a potential contender for international recognition, including a shot at the Oscars. Not to mention, the music is done by the Oscar winning pair of India, Rasul Pookutty and A R Rahman.
The movie which talks about the story of Najeeb, a Malayali immigrant labourer whose character is based on the real life experience of a person from Alappuzha district’s Arattupuzha. In the real story and in the novel, now in the movie as well, the story is about a Malayali who finds himself forced into slavery as a goatherd on a secluded farm in Saudi Arabia.
The movie is a long time dream of director Blessy, who had done many critically acclaimed and commercially successful movies in the past including Kaazhcha (2004), Thanmathra (2005), Pranayam (2011) and Bhramaram (2009). The Goat Life was in making for more than last ten years and many developments happened including financial hurdles.
