2024 Maruti Suzuki Swift: What's In Store For India?

Maruti Suzuki is gearing up to unveil the much-anticipated 2024 Swift in India this May, following its global showcase at the Tokyo Mobility Show last year. Despite its impending debut, the Swift continues to hold its ground as one of India”s top five best-selling vehicles. Let”s delve into five key updates for the upcoming model.

Longer and Taller Design:

Built on the existing Heartech platform, the fourth-generation Swift boasts a longer wheelbase of 2,450 mm, enhancing cabin spaciousness by 15 mm. Additionally, the new model stands 30 mm taller than its predecessor, promising improved headroom and overall comfort.

Design Evolution:

While retaining its dynamic road presence, the 2024 Swift receives a modern design overhaul. Key features include a trapezoidal front grille, sharp headlights, and LED daytime running lights. Notably, the rear door handles return to the standard location, departing from the previous C-pillar placement.

Enhanced Cabin Experience:

Inside, the all-dark interiors are replaced with a sophisticated dual-tone grey-black theme, reminiscent of models like the Baleno and Fronx. The dashboard now hosts a floating infotainment screen, with the top variant potentially featuring a 9-inch touchscreen and premium sound system. The flat-bottom steering wheel retains its iconic design.

Advanced Features:

Safety takes center stage with the inclusion of a 360-degree camera, six airbags, rearview camera with parking sensors, ABS with EBD, and electronic stability control. High-end variants are expected to offer connectivity features like geo-fencing, valet alerts, stolen vehicle tracking, and emergency notifications. However, the inclusion of Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) remains uncertain.

Mild-Hybrid Powertrain:

Under the hood, the 2024 Swift will debut a new 1.2-litre 3-cylinder Z Series naturally aspirated engine, incorporating mild-hybrid technology for enhanced fuel efficiency. While power output is comparable to the current 89bhp motor, transmission options are expected to include AMT and a 5-speed manual, rather than the CVT gearbox offered internationally.

With these updates, the 2024 Maruti Suzuki Swift promises a blend of contemporary design, advanced features, and efficient performance, reinforcing its position as a frontrunner in India”s hatchback segment. Stay tuned for its official launch next month, as Maruti Suzuki continues to elevate the driving experience for Indian consumers.
