Crafted on an aluminum twin-spar frame akin to its older siblings, the RS 457 exhibits distinctive design elements, drawing inspiration from its lineage. Boasting a twin headlight and DRL setup, a compact rear section, an under-belly exhaust, and captivating colour combinations, the motorcycle manages to exude a sense of both grandeur and agility.

Mounting the RS 457 reveals its business-oriented stance. The wide clip-ons, strategically positioned foot pegs, and accommodating saddle height provide a rider-friendly experience. Despite its substantial appearance, the motorcycle feels narrow between the legs, instilling confidence from the get-go.

Ride and Handling:

Firing up the 457cc in-line twin engine, riders are greeted with a noticeable vibration, quickly replaced by a rhythmic hum as the motorcycle gains speed. The six-speed gearbox proves slick and precise, contributing to a seamless riding experience.

On the handling front, the RS 457 exhibits razor-sharp responsiveness, effortlessly leaning into corners and maintaining stability throughout. The suspension, equipped with preload adjustability for both front and rear, proves adaptable to individual preferences.

In the electronics realm, the RS 457 features four traction control levels, with the option to disable ABS. Even in the least intrusive setting, the traction control subtly intervenes, providing a safety net. Ride modes offer flexibility, and the Sport mode proved ideal for our track test.

The Aprilia RS 457 showcases meticulous craftsmanship, evident in its well-integrated design and user-friendly features. The TFT dash stands out for clarity, and the power delivery, while linear, lacks the intimidation factor for new riders entering this category.

However, a notable absence is the quickshifter, an accessory that could enhance the RS 457″s overall character. Furthermore, early track testing revealed brake fading issues within 15 minutes, signaling an area that Aprilia should address promptly.
