Mahindra has unveiled their latest creation – the “Global Pik Up” Vision concept – at a noteworthy event held in South Africa. Derived from the Scorpio-N platform, this innovative pickup truck concept boasts a dual-cab design, complete with a spacious loading bay at the rear. Drawing inspiration from the Scorpio-N”s distinct aesthetic, the Global Pik Up captivates with its commanding front fascia, characterised by a sizeable black grille flanked by striking LED headlights. The robust front bumper integrates LED daytime running lights, exuding a sense of rugged elegance.
Turning our attention to the rear, the pickup truck proudly showcases rectangular wraparound tail lamp clusters that seamlessly meld into a resilient bumper, thoughtfully equipped with integrated tow hooks on both ends. Notably adventure-ready, the vehicle is outfitted with an assortment of practical and stylish features, including a snorkel, side steps, a sturdy roof rack, and a functional tyre carrier.
Underneath its striking exterior, the Global Pik Up concept is powered by Mahindra”s renowned Gen-2 mHawk diesel engine. This powertrain offers versatility by allowing the choice between a 6-speed manual or automatic transmission, seamlessly integrating with a robust 4-wheel drive system.
Mahindra is set to deliver an exceptional driving experience with the Global Pik Up. The company has revealed plans for the production version to embrace cutting-edge technologies such as 5G connectivity, semi-automatic parking, and level 2 Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS). Enthusiasts can also anticipate the inclusion of a sunroof, along with four distinct drive modes: Normal, Grass-Gravel-Snow, Mud-Rut, and Sand. These features collectively promise to elevate both convenience and safety.
With a global perspective in mind, the Global Pik Up concept has been meticulously crafted for diverse markets, including India, South and Central America, Australia, Africa, and the ASEAN region. It”s a testament to Mahindra”s commitment to catering to a wide range of adventurous spirits. As anticipation builds, the production version is slated to make its debut in 2025, marking a significant step forward in Mahindra”s journey of innovation and automotive excellence.
