Mercedes-Benz India has officially announced that the all-electric EQE SUV will be launched on September 15.

Mercedes-Benz is preparing to introduce the EQE SUV in India on September 15th. This marks the third addition to the all-electric EQ lineup, following the EQS and EQB models. This is positioned below the flagship EQS EV, the EQE which brings a new option to the electric vehicle market.
Mercedes-Benz EQE SUV: Powertrain
Internationally, the EQE is offered in different trims, including the EQE 350+, EQE 350 4Matic (4×4 version), and the EQE 500 4Matic. The entry-level EQE 350 is rear-wheel-drive and boasts a single motor with 288bhp and 565Nm of torque. Accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h takes 6.2 seconds.
The EQE 350 4Matic features dual electric motors with a combined output of 288bhp and 765Nm, achieving the same 0-100 km/h time of 6.2 seconds. The top-tier EQE 500 4Matic is equipped with twin electric motors delivering a combined 402bhp and 858Nm, propelling the vehicle from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.6 seconds.
Mercedes-Benz EQE SUV: Battery and Range
The EQE is equipped with a 90.6kWh battery. Both the EQE 350+ and EQE 350 4Matic offer over 550km of WLTP range. Charging from 10% to 100% using a 9.6 kW AC charger takes around 10 hours, while a 170kW DC charger can charge the battery from 0 to 80% in 32 minutes. The charging times are similar for the EQE 500 4Matic.
Mercedes-Benz EQE SUV: AMG Variants
For enthusiasts, the EQE SUV comes in two AMG versions: EQE 43 4Matic and EQE 53 4Matic+. Both AMG variants feature all-wheel drive and twin electric motors. The EQE 43 4Matic generates 469bhp and 858Nm, accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.3 seconds. The EQE 53 4Matic+ offers even more power, with 617bhp and 950Nm. Opting for the AMG Dynamic Plus Package boosts the performance to 677bhp and 1000Nm, achieving a 0-100 km/h time of 3.5 seconds.
Mercedes-Benz EQE SUV: Exteriors and Interiors
The EQE, launched globally in October 2022, is built on the EVA (electric vehicle architecture) platform. Mirroring the EQ design language, the SUV showcases a sleek aerodynamic roofline, piano black glossy grille, short overhangs, and connected rear tail lamps. The AMG variants feature distinctive elements such as a black panel radiator grille with chrome vertical struts and customised wheel arch claddings.
Inside, the EQE features a two-tone cabin and offers the option of a Hyperscreen that serves as the dashboard. Additional features include Burmester 3D surround sound, heated front seats, and adaptive Digital Light LED headlamps. The EQE SUV also boasts intelligent all-LED lighting that can project alerts on the pavement and within the cabin.

In the Indian market, the EQE SUV will compete with models like the Audi e-tron and BMW i4. Internationally, it also rivals the Tesla Model S and Lucid Air.
