Mercedes Maybach SL 680 Launched At Rs 4.2 Crore In India; First Roadster From Maybach

The Maybach SL 680 Monogram Series was introduced by Mercedes in India at an ex-showroom cost of Rs 4.2 crore. The opulent roadster was first unveiled in 2024 and is regarded as the sportiest Maybach ever produced. Only three cars are available for this year, and reservations have already begun.

The SL 680 is distinguished from the AMG SL 63, which it is based on, by its chrome radiator grille featuring MAYBACH lettering and illuminated vertical slats. To further set the car apart, there are numerous Maybach logos on the bumper and the extended bonnet, which is completed in Obsidian Black. As part of the customization program, buyers can also have these logos embroidered onto the soft-top fabric roof.

Regarding the profile, the three-pointed star insignia in the center is attached to 36 spokes on custom 21-inch forged wheels. Between the wheels is a smooth chrome strip; chrome accents can also be found on the front fenders and door handles. Similar to the front, the rear bumper is smoother and has chrome decorations, giving it a more subdued appearance than the SL roadster.

The SL 680 can accommodate only two passengers, in contrast to its four-seat AMG sister. The white Nappa leather upholstery in the cabin is provided by Mercedes’ personalization line, Manufaktur. “MAYBACH” is lettered on its new three-spoke steering wheel, and Maybach logos are applied to the roll hoops beneath the seat headrests.

Similar to the SL 63, it has an adjustable 11.9-inch center touchscreen and a 12.3-inch driver’s display. Mercedes’ AI-powered MBUX multimedia system is installed on the central touchscreen. It has adjusted the suspension for comfort and the car’s exhaust system to reduce cabin noise.

The well-known 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 engine, which produces 585 horsepower and 800 Nm, powers the vehicle. All four wheels are powered by a 9-speed automatic transmission, and the SL 680 can reach 100 kph from a stop in 4.1 seconds, which is 0.5 seconds less than the AMG SL 63. 260 kph is the maximum speed.

The Mercedes-Maybach SL 680 Monogram Series redefines luxury with bespoke design, premium craftsmanship, and powerful performance. Limited to just three units in India, this ₹4.2 crore roadster combines exclusivity, advanced technology, and a refined V8 engine, offering a truly elite driving experience with unmatched comfort and sophistication.
