Written by S Das

Jawa Yezdi Motorcycles, previously known as Classic Legends, has refreshed its lineup of bobber motorcycles with updates to the iconic Perak and the stylish 42 Bobber models. These bikes, known for their classic appeal and distinctive design, receive both cosmetic enhancements and functional improvements for the 2024 model year. Serving as the pinnacle of the brand’s ‘Factory custom’ portfolio, the Perak and 42 Bobber continue to captivate enthusiasts with their timeless charm.

The 2024 Jawa Perak now sports a striking stealth matte black and grey dual-tone paint scheme, accentuated by finely crafted brass tank badging and a classic quilted tan seat. In addition to its aesthetic upgrades, the Perak introduces revised ergonomics, including forward-set foot pegs that promote a more relaxed riding posture. This adjustment, positioning the foot pegs 155mm forward, enhances rider comfort during long journeys. Furthermore, the Perak benefits from a new seven-step preload adjustable mono-shock, promising a smoother and more comfortable ride experience.

Meanwhile, the 2024 Jawa 42 Bobber receives a significant enhancement in the form of premium diamond-cut alloy wheels, available in Mystic Copper and Jasper Red dual-tone variants. Despite these updates, the 42 Bobber retains its signature features, such as LED lighting, digital instrumentation, USB charging, an adjustable seat, and various luggage options. These additions further elevate the 42 Bobber’s appeal, blending modern styling with classic design cues.

Speaking on the occasion, Ashish Singh Joshi, CEO of Jawa Yezdi Motorcycles, expressed the brand’s excitement about the refreshed models. He emphasized the Perak’s remarkable success in the market and the 42 Bobber’s contribution to consolidating the brand’s dominance in the segment. Joshi underscored the unique allure of the bobber motorcycles, highlighting the need to experience them firsthand to appreciate their distinct character.

Both the Jawa Perak and 42 Bobber are powered by a 334cc, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine mated to a six-speed gearbox with a slip and assist clutch. While the powertrain remains consistent across both models, each bike is tuned differently to suit its intended riding experience. The Perak delivers 29.5 bhp at 7500 rpm and 30 Nm of peak torque at 5500 rpm, prioritizing a balanced performance output. In contrast, the 42 Bobber boasts a slightly higher power output of 30.2 bhp and torque of 32.74 Nm, thanks to enhancements such as a larger throttle body and optimized exhaust ports.

With these updates, Jawa Yezdi Motorcycles continues to cater to the evolving needs and preferences of enthusiasts, offering motorcycles that blend heritage-inspired design with modern technology and performance. The 2024 Perak and 42 Bobber exemplify the brand’s commitment to delivering captivating riding experiences while retaining their timeless appeal.
