Amazon CEO Announces $48 Billion Investment In India

New Delhi: US multinational technology company Amazon is all set to make a significant investment in India, with Chief Executive Officer Andy Jassy announcing $48 billion investment in the country between 2026 and 2030.

The announcement was made on June 25 following his meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi. The investment in the fastest-growing markets in the world would take the Amazon’s total to more than $88 billion between 2010 and 2030. The investment, as per reports, would support 3.8 million jobs.

Sharing the Amazon CEO’s post regarding the investment, Prime Minister Modi said he welcomed the Amazon’s record $48 billion investment in the country. “This will create new opportunities for our youth. At the same time, it shows the growing interest across the world to invest in India,” the Prime Minister wrote on X.

Announcing the investment, Andy Jassy said that an additional $21+ billion would support l AI and cloud infrastructure in the country. “By 2030, we plan to support 3.8 million jobs, enable $80 billion in ecomm exports, and bring benefits of AI to 15 million small businesses and 4 million government school students,” the US conglomerate CEO added in a social media post.
