CCPA Slaps Rs 10 Lakh Fine On Xboom For Anti-Drone System Ads Without Licence Disclosure
The Central Consumer Protection Authority (CCPA) has slapped a fine of Rs 10 lakh on Xboom Utilities while directing it to stop advertising or offering anti-drone systems and drone jammers.
The court prevented the firm from the practice unless mandatory regulatory approvals and licensing requirements are prominently disclosed. Chief Commissioner Nidhi Khare and Commissioner Anupam Mishra passed the order on September 17, in suo motu proceedings initiated against Indian robotics and drone brand, Xboom over advertisements for anti-drone systems, drone jammers and GPS jammers.

The officials found that Xboom failed to disclose mandatory licensing norms while selling devices that can jam or disable drone signals.
