‘Pani Puri’ is one of the beloved street foods in Indian cuisine that has become the favourite item of many in recent years. As the food trends change from one to another, bestowing space for new food spots, a guy on the X platform has now come up with an interesting tweet calculating how much a pani-puri seller earns a day.
Jagdish Chaturvedi, stand-up comedian, and ENT Surgeon explained the ‘math’ behind how a pani-puri seller meets end by selling one plate of pani-puri for just Rs 20-30.
How much does a Pani-Puri guy earn? I’ve always wondered if anyone can make a living by selling one plate of pani-puri for 20-30 INR and why so many opt for doing this for 2-3 hrs every day. I have the answer now 👇

He said that the Pani-puri seller makes a ballpark of 2500 per day working for 2-3 hours daily. However, comments have popped up saying that the pani-puri sellers undergo a lot of struggles like climate change, operational expenses, and rent that has been taken from them by other people to sell here and there.
The corporator will take about 7-15 thousand rupees a month hafta for allowing him to stand there. Also, operational expenses are on the lower side. Also, seasonal business. Very few sales on days of heavy rainfall, peak summers. Also, he will take at least 2-3 days off a month.

It was hilarious to see some IT professionals whining on the X platforms as they wish to start a pani-puri business stating that their corporate life’s plight is inexplicable. Do you think selling pani-puri is a profitable business?
