KidZania’s Air India Ad On Mid-Day Front Page Goes Viral; Netizens Call It "Surreal" Coincidence
The front page of the well-known Mumbai-based Mid-Day newspaper has gone viral on social media due to a large KidZania advertisement. What sparked the wide circulation of the June 12 edition was the depiction of an Air India aircraft emerging from a building, the image strangely coinciding with the tragic Air India crash in Ahmedabad. Though it initially appeared to be fake, the same image was also found in the e-paper edition on the newspaper’s official website.
Many users on X have called it one of the biggest coincidences in recent times. The newspaper ad, published by KidZania, offers free tickets for fathers on June 13, 14, and 15 as part of a special Father’s Day celebration.

When most of the users expressed their disbelief, calling it surreal, one among them commented that the image of the Air India plane depicts both companies’ recent partnership.
Air India and KidZania entered a multi-year partnership in late 2023 to jointly operate an “Air India Aviation Academy” within KidZania’s indoor parks in Delhi NCR (Noida) and Mumbai (Ghatkopar).
While others also pointed out that flight is one of the major key role-playing experiences offered at KidZania theme parks. In the case of the viral Mid-Day advertisement, the airplane image was part of a pre-designed promotional layout to highlight KidZania’s aviation attraction.

The aircraft, a twin-jet Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner, crashed into a residential area (Meghani Nagar) moments after taking off at 1:38 p.m. from the Ahmedabad airport. Moments after the police confirmed none of the 242 passengers survived the crash, a lone survivor, Ramesh Vishwakumar, emerged.
