Rwanda Collaborates With Turkish Cargo Amid Supply Chain Disruptions

Rwanda, an an East African country whose cargo and freight logistics companies, like many other nations, experience challenges due to the disruptions in the supply chain, like hiked freight costs, long transit times and others. However, to address the challenges, an agreement between Multilines International Rwanda Ltd and Turkish Cargo hopes to bring change to the logistics sector in the East African region. With the new partnership announced on January 31, Multilines International Rwanda is now the Turkish Cargo’s Sales Cargo Agent in Rwanda.

Talking about the collaboration with Turkish Cargo, Managing Director of Multilines International Rwanda Julie Mutoni said that they have hope the partnership will bring benefit to the country’s logistic sector. The director also said that with the new move, the company plans to use Turkish Cargo”s extensive network and resources to address issues such as high freight costs and longer transit times. Further, it will provide efficiency, reduce transit times, and provide cost-effective solutions for shippers and importers in particular and the freight forwarding industry in Rwanda in general, Julie Mutoni hopes.

It is also analysed that the East African country will benefit from Turkish Cargo’s advanced cargo fleet and wide network, facilitating efficient airfreight capabilities of Multilines International Rwanda. Air cargo too with the transportation of goods and commodities by air could lead to more efficient freight of goods.

Turkish operational connectivity in over 129 countries across 344 international designations could enable Rwanda’s client’s accessibility at an affordable rate.

Commenting on the partnership with the Multilines, Regional Cargo Manager at Turkish Airlines Savket Battal noted that the cooperation between the two will improve Rwanda’s logistic infrastructure.
