New Delhi: Chairperson of HCL Technologies, Roshini Nadar Malhotra, made history by becoming the first Indian to enter the top 10 in the Hurun Global Rich List 2025 for women. According to the list, she has an estimated net worth of Rs 3.5 lakh crore.

She is also the first Indian woman to rank in the global top 10 wealthiest women.

Daughter of Shiv Nadar, the founder of HCL Technologies, she is the only woman among India’s top 10 wealthiest individuals. Notably, Nadar transferred a 47 percent stake in HCL Technologies to Roshini, giving her control of Vama Sundari Investments (Vama Delhi) and HCL Corp, the promoter entities of HCL.

While she oversees all strategic decisions for the $12 billion tech giant, Roshini is also known for her leadership in HCL and philanthropic initiatives since 2020.

Born in 1982, Roshini did her undergraduate degree in communications at Northwestern University, Illinois, USA, and an MBA at the Kellogg School of Management.

Serving on multiple global advisory boards, including the Dean’s Advisory Council at MIT School of Engineering and the US-India Strategic Partnership Forum (USISPF), Roshini is also a board member of The Nature Conservancy (TNC), a US-based environmental organisation. She is also a trustee of the Shiv Nadar Foundation, which has established top educational institutions in India.

Roshini is married to Shikar Malhotra, Vice Chairman of HCL Healthcare.

The Hurun Global Rich List 2025 features several other Indian billionaires, including Gautam Adani, who remains the second-richest in India and 18th globally. Sun Pharmaceutical’s Dilip Shanghvi is in the fourth position in India, followed by Wipro’s Azim Premji.

The 2025 Hurun List includes 3,442 billionaires from 71 countries, marking a 5 percent increase in the number of billionaires compared to last year. Their total wealth has grown by 13 percent.
