CA Final Exams To Be Held Thrice A Year: ICAI

The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India has announced to held thrice a year CA Final exam from 2025. Earlier the exam used to held twice a year, in May and November.

The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) announced that from 2025, CA Final exams will be held three times annually instead of twice. The decision aims to provide more opportunities for students to qualify as Chartered Accountants.

The CA Final Exams are the last stage of the Chartered Accountancy (CA) course in India, conducted by the ICAI. It is one of the toughest professional exams held to become a Chartered Accountant (CA).

The decision  by the ICAI follows a history of student advocacy, including 2019 protests led by CA Praveen Sharma, where students demanded reforms like answer sheet re-checking, indicating ongoing efforts to improve the examination process.

ICAI last year announced the CA Foundation and Intermediate exams to be conducted thrice a year (May/June, September and January), while the CA final exam continued to be held twice a year.

In the recently held committee meeting, ICAI decided to held the CA Finals to be held thrice in a year.
