CBSE Fee Payment Issues: Students Struggle With Answerbook Application Payment Errors

Students applying for Answerbook, verification, or re-evaluation of their answer scripts under the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) are encountering significant issues while attempting to pay the application fees.

Many students have reported receiving errors when trying to complete their fee payments for Answerbook applications via the CBSE online portal.

As of today, several candidates have faced difficulties, with the server not allowing payments for Answerbook applications. Students have mentioned receiving payment errors repeatedly, preventing them from completing their application process.

A number of students have raised their concerns through whatsapp groups and other communication channels, with complaints directed towards payment issues for Answerbook applications.

The Answerbook refers to the scanned copy of your evaluated answer sheets provided by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) after your exams are graded.

It allows students to view their answers and assess the evaluation of their performance. To obtain a scanned copy of the answer book, a fee of ₹700 per subject is charged for Class 12 students.

Once the fee is paid, the scanned copy of your answer sheet will be available in your account for review. Additionally, after obtaining the scanned copy, students have the option to apply for verification or re-evaluation of their marks.

Verification costs ₹500 per answer book, while re-evaluation is charged at ₹100 per question. Verification allows you to check if the answers were correctly evaluated, while re-evaluation lets you request a fresh assessment of specific questions.

Student complaints include the inability to make payments despite multiple attempts. Some students noted that when attempting to pay using debit/credit cards or net banking, the payment status is not updated, even though the amount is debited from their accounts.

If you are facing similar issues or your payment status is not updated after completing the transaction, do not attempt to pay again. This could result in duplicate payments, which may further complicate the process.

The CBSE has provided a clear set of instructions for students in case of errors:

  1. Do not change your payment mode once the amount has been debited.

  2. If payment fails to update your application status, email the concerned bank’s representative for support and assistance.

  3. In case of non-updation of payment status or duplicate payments, make sure to email the relevant bank representatives and CBSE Regional Office for prompt resolution.
