CBSE Results: Board Announces Change In Sequence Of Post Results Activities
In a major change to the post-results process, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), the national level secondary and higher secondary school exam conducting agency, has announced a revised sequence for handling students’ result-related grievances for Class 10 and 12. As per the circular issued to all affiliated schools, ahead of the CBSE results to be announced, the board will now allow students to first obtain photocopies of their evaluated answer books before opting for verification of marks or re-evaluation.
This reversal of the earlier order—where verification of marks preceded access to the answer book—is aimed at enhancing transparency and giving students greater clarity. The board’s existing three-step grievance redressal system after the CBSE results are announced included verification of marks, obtaining the photocopy of the evaluated answer script, and finally, re-evaluation. With the new sequence, CBSE hopes that students will make more informed decisions about whether to request mark verification or full re-evaluation.

The board stated that candidates, after receiving their answer scripts after their CBSE results released, will be able to identify if marks have been incorrectly totalled or if any question remains unevaluated. They can then apply for either verification or re-evaluation, or both, depending on their observations.
Detailed instructions regarding the procedure for accessing answer book photocopies, and applying for verification or re-evaluation, will be issued post the declaration of the Class 10 and 12 results for 2025.
Meanwhile, CBSE is expected to declare the board examination results in the first week of May. While the board has not made an official announcement yet, past trends suggest the results will likely be published around May 12 or 13, similar to the 2023 and 2024 timelines. Students are advised to avoid falling for fake notices circulating on social media. One such letter dated May 2, 2025, falsely claiming to declare the CBSE results, has been debunked by CBSE as fake. The board has urged students, parents, and educators not to circulate unverified information and to rely solely on official communications.
