After three UPSC aspirants lost their lives to the negligence of authorities and the coaching institutes, students protested and demanded the government, MCD officials, and coaching institutes to take responsibility for the incident. The matter of illegal regulation of classes, libraries, and other facilities was not something the authorities were unaware of, said Kishore, an IAS aspirant studying in one of the coaching institutes in Delhi.
According to Kishore, he filed a complaint against the illegal library going on in the Rau Coaching Institute a month ago on June 26, 2024, however, no action was taken in this matter. If action had been taken earlier this incident would not have occurred, said Kishore.

According to Kishore, the institute did not have an NOC to conduct classes or a library in the basement as there was no proper security for the students. If any mishappening occurred, the infrastructure was not supportive of the timely evacuation of the nearly 200-300 students studying there.
Kishore filed a complaint to the central government via the public grievance portal and to the Municipal Commissioner’s office regarding the illegal conduct of classes and the possible mishappening. However, no action was taken from the authorities, said he.
The libraries functioning in the coaching institutes in the Rajendra Nagar area are working illegally as they have not obtained any fire NOC or safety NOC and the width of the staircase can not support the emergency exit of students at once, said he.
He criticised administration for the incident and said that If the administration have taken prompt action this incident would have been skipped.
The adminsitration also show a lackluster attitude when it comes to ensuring the complaince also, Kishore said.
